The Nut Job is a 3D animated comedy film about an adventurous purple squirrel, Surly (Will Arnett) , who gets kicked out of the park by Racoon (Liam Neeson). After bungling up a planned hot dog heist by Grayson (Brendan Fraser) and Andy (Katherine Heigl) . Fortunately he stumbles on what might be the park community's only chance at survival during the winter weather, Maury's Nut Store, and with help from his rat friend Buddy (Robert Tinkler) the plan a daring nut store heist, and inadvertently find themselves embroiled in a complicated adventure.
